10 & 12lb Bass Pro Shops XPS flurocarbon.  Greater depth and feel.

When I am trying to get depth from a crankbait I use 10lb Berkley Sensation but when I am combat fishing in heavy cover or throughing a flat side or RC 1.5 I use 12 -15lb Big Game.

Fluoro is also more sensative than mono. it get cranks a little bit deeper. I use 10lb P-line 100% Fluorocarbon. Most people think that fluoros dont strecth but they do a little bit just not as much as mono.

Fluoro does stretch a lot more than people think. I read that some brands of fluoro actually stretch more than some brands of mono.

I see everyone using (mostly) 8 and 10# mono for crankbaits. I'm throwing 17# mono. Yes, I know it will restrict my baits from running as deep as it's label says, but, aren't you guys afraid of hang ups and breaking off a $6 bait with that 8 and 10# line? I can just hear it now: *snap*  - then retie.  Fish for 5 minutes, hang up.... and *snap*. Gosh, with 8 and 10# lines, you can't "pull" very much on it or else, SNAP. I only fish lakes that are 10' or less in max depths. Do I still need to back down from 17# mono for crankbaits?

Its all about finesse.  I reel the crank down to its max depth and then gently pull the rod sideways towards me.  Pick up slack and pull.  I've even ripped crankbaits over grassbeds and still have yet to break my 10# P-Line!

Come on. Be nice. Not everyone has piles of cash and are able to say "oh well" when you break off a $6 bait.

I USE ON MOST BAITCASTING GEAR, I MAY DROP DOWN TO 10, 0R 8, BUT THEY ALL WORK GOOD. I LOVE THE LINE.

Sad thing is when it stretches it dont come back to normal it gets maxed out and then u got probs with tensile strenght  I am gonna try floro for jigs and worms though shortly for crankbaits ill stick with my Big game

8 lb. PLine CXX will not 'snap'.
