Need some Reel Advice!!

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone, I'm new here and looking for some advice/suggestions. As of right now, I have 4 combos rigged up. I have 1 Curado200B (6.4.1 Old Style), 2 Revo SX (6.4.1 and 7.1), and an Ambass. 4600C3. I have another pole that I need to slap a reel on. What are some suggestions? Looking to spend less than $200. I have thought about trying out something different (president, citica, new curado, etc), but I have also thought of getting another SX mainly because I love the drag system because I fish a lot of salt/fresh water in Louisiana. If you guys can give me any suggestions please feel free!!

Welcome aboard!

The Shimano Citica and Curado are still on sale and with rumors of a new introduction, may continue to get cheaper. You might want to keep an eye on those. Also, our "Flea Market" has deals all the time, check there, too.

I'd say to try and find a 50MG at one of the ebay stores in your price range.  I bought several of them for right at $200 delivered.  Or, look on-line for a Revo Premier... I also got one for under 200 delivered.  I love the light weight reels.

But I think both of those are freshwater only, I just noticed that part of your post.

Try a Pflueger if you're looking for something different...   pretty good bang for the buck, in my opinion...
