I need some opinions on Fenwick Rods

Featured Replies

IM thinking about buying a couple Fenwick Rods. Im thinking on the 7'3 Carolina Riggin Rod and the 7'11 Flipping Stick. Has anyone used the two? I would like to know how sinsitive they are and how they perform. Thanks.

I don't know the Elite series, but teh Techna AV are the best rods for the money.

I have the Elite Tech 7'3''Riggin Stick and it is a nice rod.  It's kind of heavy but it cast a long way.  As far as sensitivity goes, it's average.  I would put it somewhere between the St.Croix Avid and the Loomis IMX.  If I was looking for just a new rod I go with a Loomis IMX series.  But if you're looking for a good combo, Abu Garcia has a deal were you can get $50 back if you buy a Revo and a Fenwick rod.

Overall I would say it is a fine rod for it's specific purpose.

I was a little disappointed in my Techna AV 7' MF casting rod - I hoped for a bit more.  Not necessarily a fair comparison, but when I switch back to my Browning Midas 6'6" MF spinning rod I am very impressed by its light weight at fantastic sensitivity.  That said, the Techna AV has a lot more backbone and is loaded with 12# mono vs. 6# copoly for the Midas.  I still like the Techna, but I feel the Midas was a better value (for me) JMHO

Terry has the Elite Tech for $150 if you didn't already know.
