Crankin line

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I am thinking about getting a new line for crankin, I am using Trielen 100% fluoro right know and am decently happy, except t doesn't cast as far as I would like and I am getting too many backlashes with it.  I don't think that it is my thumb, but does anyone have any favorites?

Welcome to my world...Got the same problem with trilene 100% fluorocarbon as well.Made a thread about it not too long ago.

However for cranking i like using mono(12# test trilene big game)...specially when using treble hook type lures.I got a habit of setting the hook hard..so it cushions the blow instead of ripping the lure right out of the fish mouth.

I was using pline cx, however, it was so thin that I lost too many crankbaits with it.  Not lost that many wit the fluoro, but that stuff is expensive to backlash.

I haven't changed much over the weekend:

Spinning gear: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test)

Baitcasting tackle: Ultra Soft #12 (.013" diameter, 19.5 lb test)

8-)

10 lb. Suffix Elite. It's the smoothest casting line I have ever used.

Try Diamond Illusion and you wont be able to say that anymore ;)

Plus I have found it to be more abrasion resistant.

How abrasion resistant is that Ultrasoft Roadwarrior?  I have not used it but was worried it would be like the cx, strong tensile strength, but not to abrasion resistant due to its diameter.

I just use CX in a little big higher pound test to get the diameter evened out. CX is soft and casts farther than any line i haver ever used. I use it for all of my spinning reels and for my 2 cranking rods.
