Gamma Copolymer

Recommended Posts

I have switched all of my spinning combos to it. So far I am VERY impressed, it is limp, abrasion resistant, strong, and casts very well.

What are your thoughts on it?

I have been experimenting with the line on a spinning reel and like it quite a lot. I plan to try a heavier pound test on a baitcaster in the near future. Several of our members have switched from Yo-Zuri Hybrid to Gamma Copolymer mainly, I think, because it does not create weak spots as noticably as Hybrid when you experience a "professional overrun". The line seems like a good option to me, but I am a little surprised that it commands such a premium price.

Yeah the price is a little high. But, my local gander mountain had it on sale so I was able to stock up on it.

I also like Yozuri Hybrid Ultrasoft. but it can be hard to find locally and I try to order as little online as possible.

I LOVE this line.  Last summer it was the only one on my bass rigs.  I tried other lines and yo-zuri was my second choice.

It is pricey though so I haven't bought any more, but I haven't really needed to.

Gamma handles like Cajun Red Advantage.   Hated Cajun Red, hated Gamma.   If you like Gamma, might as well save a few bucks and buy CR Advantage.

I use 10# on one spinning reel. It's OK line, but I can't see where it's worth the premium price.
