So I bought a few reels in the last couple weeks. One of which, I am really excited about.

Finally found a Red Pixy. Still not sure what rod this will go on, but I wont have to worry about it for a while. Added the carbon 90mm bassart handle and Daiwa corkies. Sending the reel out to turn it into a Pixzilla as well.

Daiwa Big Bait Special. This reel is just awesome, I think it's hightly underrated and will be doing some very cool changes to it, primarily to match the rod it's going on, which will be my incoming Megabass White Python. It's also getting a drag upgrade. This is a "before" picture.

I can not believe I found a "new" Ito 103M. I've seen many used reels on Ebay, with scratches, nicks, and what not. This reel has never been used. I think it's one of the coolest reels ever made. I upgraded the handle to a 90mm Bassart handle and am upgrading the drag as well. Love the colors on this thing!

They look good so far Robert, cant wait to see what the finished projects look like attached to the rods  .

What are the plans for the BBS?  Anything internal?  

I hope your BBS is better than mine.  My BBS was disappointing, when new and only got a little better after subsequent servicing.  (great looking but poor casting and a slippy-jerky drag)

The BBS will get a drag upgrade only internally.  After talking to D.R. He doesn't think it needs a bearing upgrade since I will be using the reel primarily with larger lures.

Externally is a different story.  I'm replacing the arm with a 90mm Steez carbon bent arm and Steez drag star.  it will also get cork grips.  All of the metal pieces on the arm side including drag star, drag star base and tension knob and base will get anodized purple to match the White Python.  I'm contemplating anodizing the spool as well but not sure if it will hinder performance.

Nice reels, that Big Bait Special is AWESOME.  I have bever seen one of those before, wouldn't mind getting my hands on one.

How do you justify spending that much money on reels? And is your company hiring?

Those are some sweet reels. Take good care of them.

 are you ever afraid to use the reels because you dont want to  scratch them or make them look (not new)??????

Anodizing the spool will not hurt the performance.  It is only a few 0.001's thick.  Sharp though.

I use to trick out cars before reels. These are more fun.

Scratches don't bother me.  They add charachter.

Did you buy your ito off of Tackle Tour?  Someone had a new Ito for sale a bit ago.  Anyway...since your into the limited reels, I sent ya a pm...
