cheap crank rod suggestion

Featured Replies

so one of my favorite time of the year is coming up, fall, and i have a lot of good luck with crank baits. ive got the baits and reel for crankin, just no the rod. for th longest time i have been using a very crappy zebco rod for my crankin, plenty of give, but is just WAY to limber and i dont know how much money ive wasted on superglue to just keep the thing together, ;D ive been lookin at the browning silaflex fiberglass rod. ive heard fiberglass is the go to material for crankbait rods, and i seen this, i think its a steal. any personal input on this rod, or any other suggestions on other good, fairly cheap crankbait rods i could look into? sorry for being so winded, just tryin to cover as much ground as i can.

thanks,

-j

BPS Crankin' Stick.

Ditto on the BPS Crankin' Stick, especially if you can catch 'em on sale.

BPS crankin stick. When they go on sale they are only like $30.

They have a lot of give and flex.

140.00 for the shimano rod. It is an excellant rod but it's a bit out of your price range.

and you call that lamiglas on sale? lol. no thank you. i hthink im leanin towards the silaflex, cant find any crankin rods on sale. (even though there still cheap)

An Ugly Stick would make a decent crank rod on a budget.

I do a lot of cranking and I've used the Browning Silaflex rods for a long time and still do to this day. They aren't the lightest rods you'll ever pick up but not many glass rods are very light and for $35 bucks, you can't beat that.
