I JUST WENT THROUGH THE POLL ARCHIVE ON THE BASS RESOURCE

HOME PAGE AND ONE OF THE POLL QUESTIONS WAS "WHO MAKES THE BEST ROD" AND THE #1 ANSWER WAS QUANTUM W/30% OF THE VOTES & G LOOMIS WAS 2ND W/ 26% , NOW I KNOW QUANTUM MAKES A DECENT ROD BUT I NEVER THOUGHT OF THEM BEING IN THE TOP FIVE LET ALONE THE BEST .

AM I MISSING SOMTHING OR WHAT?

If thats the case we're both missing something because I cannot fathom how Quantum could be be in the top three let alone number one. I've heard some good things about Quantum rods but not G Loomis good. There must be some kind of mistake.

The whole "what's the best rod/reel" argument has more to do with brand loyalty and endorsements than anything based in reality.  The best is what you feel proud to own and are happy to fish with.

You didn't miss the Caps Lock button that's for sure...................... Man that was hard to read.

I know it's beside the point, but take the caps off and you will come across as more respectable.  Quantum may be what more people use...that's cool.  Low Budget Hookers says it's the driver, not the car...which I agree with for the most part, but who wants to drive a piece of crap?  I did that all the way through college...I got from A to B just fine,  but I enjoy my trips alot more in my new 4runner.

I don't know if respectable is a good way to discribe it but I will tell you that in the many years that I have been on this forum. I have noticed that those who use all caps get fewer responses because guys don't want to work to read it.

It comes from old school internet, all caps in a posted sentence is considered YELLING!

Statistical mistake those were the results of the poll. A poll showing a determined preference for X or Y doesn 't mean it 's the best, it 's the best from the universe of those who voted on the poll.

I 've owned two Quantum rods and I can say that they are far from being "the best" of what I 've owned or own. My old Berkley Lightning rods were a lot better than those Quantums.
