Rod for toads/wormin' $200 or less

Featured Replies

Lookin for a new rod to pair my zillion with.  I am lookin at the zillion rods, but was also lookin at the airrus puls-r and loomis mossy back.  I'm lookin for a rod around 6'8"-7', MH or H.  I have a 6'6" MH I used to use with toads with no problems so I kinda want to have this rod as a toad/all around type rod.  Any opinons?  And how good are the loomis mossybacks compared with other loomis rods?  Thanks!

I have a Zillion on a Dobyns 704C for those exact uses.  The outfit gets the most work as my Horny Toad rod, but I use for larger plastics as well.

I love that combo...

Gotta go with the Zillion; it will fish as good as it looks (which isn't easy) 8-)

What he said.. The Zillion rods are better than the mossy back and puls r's combined.

I use the list below when I use a worm and they all seem to be good!

St. Croix Avid

E21 Carrot Stix

Daiwa Zillion

Use a 7 foot rod with a lot of back bone so you can pull your fish out of the weeds and get a better hook set. I prefer a MH action reel, the best brads I've used, Abu, Shimano, and Quantum. Bill dance, has great rods for toadin' and wormin' , not so much the reels though, great price too!
