  1. Split grip AND a foregrip? No thanks!
  2. Are you sure that the reel isn't the problem and not the rod? If it was truly a problem with the rod, but was only noticeable when you put the reel on it, then you need to make sure you let them know that. Tell them to put a reel on it.
  3. What he said. I cast a lot of those same lures and others with my Citica 200E. Seeing as how the Curado's spool is lighter, then it should be even better.. Line and rod choice make a big difference in what you can and cannot cast. For the money, the Citica/Curado E's can't be beat.
  4. They have an exclusive deal with TW for 2 different frog rods... these may fit your needs better... http://www.***.com/descpageRDCPOWELL-PCFR.html
  5. Agree 100% A bass rod, especially a casting rod, should never ever come with a foregrip. Total waste IMO.
  6. Because we don't all use #10 mono or braid... I've got mine spooled with 14lb Fluroclear and I have plenty of reserve.
  7. To me the Zillion and Cumara are both more sensitive than the IMX. I guess that is why they say sensitivity is subjective.
  8. I've never understood peoples response to the mojo rod. It is the same blank as the premier.. Anyone that ever owned a premier talks about how poorly it performs, yet they just add a split grip and some purple paint and all the sudden it is a great rod? Personally, the only st croix rod that feels better than average is the legend elite. The others don't compare very well to most rods in their price points.
  9. But didn't you just confirm what he said? On your 802 (which is a light powered rod) the pixy shined, but on your flipping stick it didn't do so well. If the rod will load properly to cast light baits, then you can use just about any reel, especially if using lighter line.. Hence the importance of the rod.
  10. I agree.. Plus, the Zillions are just too heavy and don't palm near as good as the Curado.
  11. Yep. Everyone that has seen it in person says it's garbage. Daiwa is taken a step backwards this year.
  12. Yeah, not to get too far off topic, but those Big Green Fish ABEC7's are the best bearings I have used.. and I've used literally everything. I just hopes he keeps the price down on them! They can't be beat.
  13. Looks like it had external cast control adjustments.. when did they switch over to internal on the U.S models? Shimano's are built to last.
  14. I think a lot of people are waiting to hear that comparison. I am still fond of the Chronarch MG50. I just don't see that Core being that much better. Considering my MG50, with ceramic spool bearings, can cast any lure that I own; it's hard to replace a winner like that.
  15. Curado E's are nice.. It's a most have. I've been using the Citica E and it performs nicely as well. I am still amazed at how well it can cast down to 1/8oz lures.
  16. Yeah sure. He uses a Revo doesn't he? ;D
  17. The original Core 100 is overpriced to start with. The Core reels should have been in the $250-$289 price bracket. They go for that or less on ebay.. I'd never pay retail for it.
  18. I've used both and the Crucial is a much better rod. They are lighter and balance better and feel more sensitive. The Crucial really is a very nice rod for the money.
  19. OMG they just made themselves sooo insignificant...LMAO Pure fishing Inc. is now pure garbage!
  20. If it is plastics you plan to use the rod for, then the Zillions are ideal for that application.
  21. I honestly don't see any high end rods on your list. Personally, I'd go with the Zillion rods for feel type baits (jigs, soft plastics, etc) and I would go with the Steez rods for all moving baits (spinnerbaits, crankbaits, etc).
  22. I'd stay away from ANYTHING named Bucoo. ;D
  23. The short answer is, absolutely. The long version is- I fish a lot of soft plastics and have used everything from GLX's to Legend Elites and some JDM rods mixed in over the years. To me the Zillion rods will hang with anything out there. I personally use that same rod (6'6'' M XF) for finesse baits. It is perfect for lighter weight baits.. jigs, T-rigs, Senkos, Flukes, etc.. it fishes light "feel" baits like a dream. If you can get that rod at a good price, then I'd highly recommend you try it out. I think you will find it ideal.
