Kistler Rod Owners need Info

Featured Replies

I am thinking about buying a Kistler Graphite Plus model # KD SSS63 I don't know any one who owns a Kistler rod so I,m asking my buds on the forum. I own 3-St. Croix Avid's and a Shimano Compre so I was wondering how the Kistler will stack up to them. The only other rod with the same specifications is the St. Croix Premier. So any input on the matter will be appreciated.

I don't know the particular rod you are looking at but I have a couple of Helium LTAs, one of them broke ( my mistake ) about six months after I bought it and the company replaced w/o problems, I don't remember the cost. St Croix warranty in excellent too, they raplaced one of my fly rods pretty quickly.

I own several Kistler at the moment and will own a few more here shortly. The Graphite series are great rods. I own 2 of the baitcasing Graphites and 2 LTA Heliums love them all.

I own 6 Kistler Magneisum's and 1 LTX and by the start of next spring it will be up to at least 12 total kistlers. i'm switching all my rods over to them if that tells you anything.

My helium Kistler performs beautifully.

But so does my All Star, so go figure.  ;)

I have a couple of Graphite series.  They are an excellent value, not quite as nice as my Avids, but much less $$$.

I have Graphite series and Helium models, 7 or 8 total. Love them all, you won't be dissapointed.

I have been thinking of getting a Kistler as of late too.  My friend just got one and I cannot wait to try his out.

I had a graphite plus brush buster that had the guide inserts pop out. I replaced it with a helium LTX II and LOVE it!

I've owned each Kistler model in the past (Graphite, Mag, Helium LTA, Helium LTX)  While all are good rods, the LTA's are the best bang for your buck, in my opinion.

LTA rods are great, I just ordered a Helium to compare.

I just bought my first Helium yesterday, an 08' He76HC.  I'm freakin' stoked.  I've had my eye on this baby for a few years now.  I really can't afford it, as I still have some Halloween props to buy for the yard, but I found a deal and couldn't pass it up.  8-)

Man i own 2 kistlers and I intend to buy alot more! they are really good rods that can feel the bite, but St.croix are about the same... If I were you i would test out a kistler and just see how you like it. ;D

I have 2 LTA's  One of them from when Kistler first introduced the LTA's and one a few years old too.  Very nice rods. As stated above, you will  not be disappointed.

I own 2 Magnesium Rods one 6'6" other 6'9" absolutly love em.

Will be purchasing a new 7' magnesium crankbait rod tomorrow.

This coupon was on the back of a recent Bassin' magazine:

I went to that website but they don't have any rods listed. If you just go to the homepage and browse through their rods, you can add one to the shopping cart and then if you go partially through the checkout process and use the code it works (at least it did when I tested it for the Magnesium series...)
