Daiwa zillion casting rods

Featured Replies

For the price, is there a better stick out there?  From the reviews I am seeing everywhere the answer seems to be no.  I'd like some feedback, especially from the guys who actually own a zillion casting rod, compared to others in its price range, as well as maybe some slightly below its pricetag.  I'm in the market when I get home and the zillion is my front runner as of right now. Thanks!

Ask The Nautral about them, he got a bunch.

I've not had the pleasure of fishing with them yet, but I can tell you that seat of the pants observations on the rods is that you are getting 90% Steez for 50% of the price.

Why did I have a feeling Redlinerobert (Raul too for that matter, Japan junkie, hahaha!)would chime in on thise one, lol! ;D  Thanks man, I have heard that too, about how they're quite similar to the steez rods.  I really like the way the reel seats are designed on these sticks, and with all the features they seem to have you'd figure they'd cost at least 50-100 bucks more than what they do.  I'll definately be sending the natural a PM.  Thanks again for the input guys.

I have one and it seems to be a good rod. My observations are that they are stiffer then most for the action as compared to say G Loomis so keep that in mind. Also the handles get can get a bit slick when wet, hopefully with use they will rough up. Other then that a good sensitive rod at a fair price. It also looks sweet with my Zillion Reel mounted on it.

I agree w/ Leo on the power and action of the rod.  The rod is under-rated.  I have the 66mXF and it's stiff compared to my loomis' medium power, more like st croix's. I can't comment on the Fast action ones, but i'm sure that will have a softer tip.  But the sensitivity is surprisingly amazing, must be the huge exposed blank under the reel and it looks great.  Did i say it looks great  8-)

The Zillions are very nice sticks.  As mentioned, the thing to remember is they are VERY fast rods.  The fast rods in the series feel more like an x-fast, and the x-fast rods are just super-ridiculous fast.  The heavy powered Zillions are broomsticks, and rated up to 1.5ozs (probably could do more).  Anyway, like others have said the Zillions are very sensitive.  It's pretty surprising.

Sorry to highjack the thread a bit, but does anyone know much about their warranty? Do they have any accidental coverage plan?

I have the 6'9"MHXB. Have only fished once with it, but was very pleased. The main difference from the $300+ rods is the zillions slightly higher weight.
