I'd like to know which rod you would recommend for throwing very small swimbaits?

Recommended Posts

I have some options for reels as well:

Daiwa Alpha 103L (qty: 6)

Daiwa SOL L (qty: 2)

Daiwa Zillion 100HLA (qty: 2)

Daiwa Steez 103HLA (qty: 2)

I would also like to know about line size/type as well.

Thanks all.

Hmm...

All those reels are the wrong brand.   :)

Regarding the rod:  EC70MHF

What is a "very small swimbait"?  Anyway, Its got more to do with the rod, though I use a Daiwa Sol to thropw everything from peanut size cranks up to big DD cranks.

Now I see the poll, LOL.  I'd want a longer rod, and 8 footer, but go with MH/Mod. and a Zillion.

For "very small swimbaits" like a GYCB Swimming Senko or Mattlures

Shad, I use either an Avid AVC66MF or Fenwick Techna AV

AVS70MM.

I voted for the 7'6" MH/Mod. I like the extra length for casting purposes.

The guy that designed the lure recommends using a larger (MH/H) crankbait rod and 15lb fluoro.

I have heard that the Spro baits have a tendency to "helicopter," but I have not thrown mine yet and have not personally experienced it.
