What are some good winter baits?

Featured Replies

I have been catching lots of bass on rattletrap type baits recently. They are working realy well for me. The question is what other baits work well in the winter time? I am asking this because I have been throwing rattleing lipless cranks only for about a month now and would like to know what other baits will produce as this time. I have used small worms as well but only have caught a couple small fish. I am just wondering what other baits are good fish catchers this time of year, in murky water, and in a shallow lake? Would anyone reccomend fishing swimbaits or anything like that or you think the only way il be able to catch bass is the lipless cranks that have been working for me already?

In the wintertime I use the following

Swimbaits

jigs

dropshot

spoon

and that is pretty much it.

Jigs, Get a darker color because the craws will be coming out in the winter and the darker color will resemble the craw more. Also, slow down your presentation as the bass aren't as aggresive.

Hare jigs unless you live in FL where you just throw topwaters!
