in terms of using a baitcaster, what reel have you guys had the best success with when using lighter baits?

Why not just get a spinning setup for all your light rigs?? Make life much more easier!

X2 on the SOL its a GREAT reel and cast light baits almost as good as my Daiwa Pixys and nothing cast light baits like a Pixy so thats saying something!

Exactly.  I throw a 1/8 ounce bait, and sometimes smaller, all day on the Sol, Chronarch 50mg and Abu Premier but the rod I use makes it possible.

I throw 1/8 oz baits and lighter on baitcasting tackle with Abu C3 and C4 plus other brands with disengaging level winds. Your rod choice and casting technique will determine if you can handle the lighter weights.
