Suffix Elite.

Recommended Posts

It's my favorite mono line that I have tried. It casts great and has good abrasion resistance. It is a monofilament and has a good amount of stretch, so it isn't as sensitive as flourocarbon or braided lines. Another option is Sufix Seige which is stronger and more abrasion resistant but has a little more memory and doesn't cast quite as well as Elite.

You can find a multitude of good reviews on it, but it comes down to what you like. It's good and casts far.

Check out tackletour.com and look up line reviews they reviewed it.

I have yet to try a better mono out there. It is tough yet very manageable. I like the way they wind their line on the spools. It seems to have less memory than most monos. It is definitely going to be more stretchy than fluoro though. I plan on using the 12# elite again  on my topwater setup this year (which I also crank with at times).

I told myself I was gonna try the yo-zuri hybrid (ultra soft) this year on my other two baitcasters. I hope it's as good as they say it is, otherwise, I am going back to my sufix elite! :)

Exactly!  :)

Here's to me hoping the Braid is as good as the Elite.

I'm confident you'll love it! I've been using Suffix Braid on my spinning rods for a couple years now and just switched up to braid on one of my flippin sticks too!

i used both in 14lb (elite and seige) and yes its very strong but next time i would go with something in lest diameter. the 14lb for me had bad memory and was stiff.

Suffix Elite is a good monofilament. There are a number of good monofilaments but if this is the one you choose I don't think you will be disappointed.

Treat it with KVD L&L as soon as you spool it up.  Its great line.  So is Siege.  In fact, the fish in my avatar was caught on 8# Siege and a 4# FC leader.

X2 on the KVD L&L! I've noticed that Elite has some memory in COLD temps and after treating my 14#, the memory issue was gone!  :)

Could you compare/contrast the braid vs PP?  Thanks.

I plan on getting some suffix elite I was wondering is this line good like: cast easy, sensitive, and strong. :)

What weight are you looking to get?

I just pick up two 17lbs elite at local Target for $6.24 each.  Suffix has a $6 mail-in rebate for 2 spools.  http://www.sufix.com/downloads/coupons/sufix_2009_coupon.pdf

now, I'm wondering if 17lbs is a little too much for baitcaster setup.

If you're using spinning gear, I prefer Siege over Elite. Casts easier, stronger, and less memory for me at least. :)

Francho, were you fishing really, really clear water? I see no need for a leader at all using the green Siege line... I'm interested! :-?
