Stick Jackets???

Recommended Posts

I use something similar sold by member Fivebasslimit.

The stick jackets are nearly the same.  Great stuff.  You can cram rods into the rod box and extract anyone you want nearly effortlessly.  The protect the rods while they're on and you can use the mesh to hang them vertically in the off season or between trips.

Yes.  I'm a big fan of stick jackets.  Guys who have the "tube type" rod holders in their rod lockers can keep their rods untangled and unscratched with these things.  I use them every time I go fishing with friends on their boats - it eliminates the tangled mess when carrying your rods around, hauling them in the truck, and of course in the boat.

They will definately add a few years to your rods life.  Especially when transporting them in cars and such.  I personally think they are a great investment and I use them at home and transporting them to the lake, but once I get on the lake I don't like dealing with them so I usually take them off.

The only thing i don't like is the seam at the top tens to open letting the tip go outside the stick jacket which is very annoying to try to pull back through.

Good question---I've been looking at these too!!

Those that have used them, do you like them better than the cloth ones that are normally used??

I have one on every rod I own, will never be without them again. With them I can put 14 rods in my small rod locker, and get them out effortlessly with no tangled line/guides, and more importently with out banging rods around and risking damage.

I dont own any but its 1 of those "why didn't I think about that" products..

They look like the product called Spectre Nylabraid we used back in the 80's to dress up hoses on show cars/bikes..

I use to have crap loads of it just sitting in boxes in the garage until a couple years ago i gave it away >;)

This is a great product and I have them on all of my rods. I found out about them last year because my best friend is sponsored by them.

Anyone use these before???

I have one for every rod. Make storage very easy, give some protection during transport and prevent the rods from tangling to each other.

If you mean like the ones BPS or Cabela's sells, yes, they're better.  No messing with adjusting straps and the mesh stays close to the rod.  I still have a few BPS ones I use for spinning rods though Stick Jacket does have larger mesh for spinning rods with big guides.

Stick Jackets are  the greatest thing since the invention of sliced bread.

Big fan as well.

I really like the ability to hang the rods and reels for storage between trips. A 2x3 and a handful of nails ~ now even I can manage that one.

;)
