Shimano Sedona or Pflueger President.

Featured Replies

which would i be better off getting, using it as an all around spinning reel?

I have a Sedona that I got for my birthday in 1997. I fish hard. I fish often. That reel still works. Get the Shimano.

Shimano hands down.

We have a house full of shimano stuff and I cant tell much of a difference between my wifes sahara 1500 and my sustain 1500. Both of our reels are 2 years old and all weve done is lube/clean. No major maintenence or anything.

awww come on, Burley, don't take it that way...If he had asked about the Sahara or better I would have said something else.

btw, What would you say if i told you i was contemplating a Revo SX for my next purchase?

i was trying to decide between the 2, and ended up with the shimano sedona.  im not an expert, but i love the sedona.  its super smooth, and has an amazingly smooth drag.  im really really happy with it.

I would say you would be better off giving me the money and letting me kick you in the nuts.

d**n, i thought your response would involve me getting kicked in the nuts somehow.

I just really want the free WileyX glasses that would go with them. I'm still eyeing another Citica or maybe a Curado as well. Maybe even another Fuego or Zillion if I can find a good deal and start making some money.

i actually have both and there basically the same. although im pretty sure the sedona is cheaper and i also think its a bit more durable.  but nothing is wrong with either one.  the pfleger looks awsome also

I have both a President and a Sahara and when I go to buy another spinning reel....I am no doubt grabbing another President. To me this reel is so smooth and durable. I have fished mine very hard for over 2 years now and it still works like a dream.

I'm sure they are both great reels.  I can only speak on behalf of the Pflueger though.  I bought one for my wife last year, and I've found myself using it when she doesn't come along.  It is exceptionally smooth, and comfortable.  I think it is the best spinning reel I've ever used.
