Looks like a Core spinning reel. It would look great on a Fuego rod (if you could somehow prevent the Shimano/Daiwa combo from exploding upon contact)

Uh Oh!  I might need to own a Shimano.  I'm not one that cares too much for looks, but my Kistler DS rod is gun metal gray with red highlights in the wraps.....

But is interesting nonetheless,

Not turning into a 'she-man-o' junkie, but a 2500 at 7oz? Rather attractive too.

;)

I don't need another spinning reel but I think I'll be picking one up! And probably building a rod especially for it! :)

Its offical. Core 50/51 as an replacement of the chronarch mg

http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/products/reels/low_profile_baitcasting/core.html

Comes in 7:1 gear 5.5 oz w/ 10lb drags. 7 bearings. I really want to see this reel.

I don't see anything in that link about a 50/51?

click the core link then click on specs

5.5 oz, reel competition for the Steez!

Mount the new Core on the Cumara Reaction rod and you have the Steez assassin in terms of total weight.

Doggone, RW, ya just got a new Stella! Course, you can send me the old one. No, just kidding.

No I'm not.

Let us know how the new Stella handles.
