magic eraser to clean cork handles

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

I dont know if anyone has mentioned here about using Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser to clean cork handles or not but I just tried it and it took off years of gunk, sweat, and oil.  It looks brand new.  I used it with some rubbing alcohol so it would dry faster and it worked wonderfully.

Sorry if someone already mentioned this already but I did a search and nothing came up.

Hey, thanks for the tip I hadn't heard that one. Thanks Again...

That's a great tip, I normally use and old cloth and denatured alcohol.

But the key is once they are clean you need to seal them Cleaning Cork Handles. Then its just a damp cloth to clean them up, with out all the extra elbow grease needed.

Great tip...

Wilson Fraizer also makes a great cork cleaner that I have been using. If anyone wants to check it out. He is also selling a Dvd series that shows you the ins and outs of your Lowrance unit that is great.

I don't understand.  :-?

This thread is/was about cleaning the cork grips not oiling them up. ..

But the only two items I have used on cork (after cleaning) and would only put on cork, is Tru Oil (used on gun stocks) and U-40 Cork Sealer...

Tight Lines All!!!

Yup, reel mechanic put me onto U-40 cork seal and i absolutely love it! Handles feel/look better now!

Thanks reel mechanic
