Im nervous, ordered my core 50 last night and now this morning the *** website doesn't respond, always gives a bad feeling in the gut when you enter that credit card and the next day the website doesnt answer.  Crossing my fingers its just a tech glitch.

My beef with the "new" core is that it's so close to the same as the original that it hardly warrants excitement.

I am no expert but for me I can cast longer distance with the Core

it holds way less line than the steez, so your turning less mass in the spool. Which is wonderful, if you like light line or use braid. :-X

Want to trade a steez for a core? I hate to see you shorting your casts. I'll pick up shipping on both sides.

The Core 50 is NOT so close to the original... I've been using the JDM counterpart, the Aldebaran for a few months now and I can tell you that the frame, feel, smoothness, and power are all improved in the Core 50.  It's also available in a lefty 7:1 this time around.  I've been using 15lb FC on my Aldebarans and haven't had any trouble being short on line.  And yes, I did get rid of a steez to get another Aldebaran - I like them that much... The Core 50 is obviously the US counterpart and will be a phenomonal reel.

it's been working fine for me all day, what do you mean?

Everything is fine with the *** website and according to Fedex my Core 50 left California at 5:30pm this evening and its on its way to Dallas,TX for delivery to me this Monday afternoon by 3pm.

Should be fishing with that puppy by 6pm.

Hands on Review/Comparison between the Core 100 and 50 should be posted on Monday night! ;D

Should be an easy review; the Core 50 shares the same spool and gears from its larger Core 100 brother.  Handle bearings and better 'palmability' separate the two.  

Ok someone on here must have paid for the overnight shipping and have one by now   wanted to see if anyone can let us know what they think so far

Perhaps, but then again, maybe not... if it is identical to the Aldebaran in feel, performance, etc. the comparison to the Core 100 won't be quite so simple IMHO. The Aldebaran is much smoother - and not just as a result of handle bearings - the reel feels much more refined overall and has a more solid feel in my hands. We'll see what others have to say very soon 8-)

I will be finshing with it by 6pm central time today.  I'll fish both the Core 100 and Core 50 mounted on identical GLX rods so I can post a comparison/review tonight.

Test it with 1/8 th and 1/16 oz lures, 3 inch weightless senkos, size 2 and 3 in-line spinners, 5 inch weightless grub, that kind of stuff.

I see no point in testing it with a 5 inch senko, a reel that can 't cast a 3/8 oz bait into the next zip code is not worth it 's weight in salt.

So Raul, you want the focus on casting lightweight stuff?

If it cast it better than the Core 100, then it will be in the next Zip code.

Just wonder where you saw that? They list the line capacities as slightly different. Are you thinking they just said it's a little less to make the "smaller" reel different?

1.- A reel capable of casting those effortlessly and with good distance is capable of handling in practical terms anything. One heck of a reel, a multipurpose reel for the budget oriented angler ( no need to spend hundreds of bones in a reel for this and a reel for that and so on ).

2.- It 's supposed to substitute the Chronarch Mg, the Chronarch Mg handles those baits like a champ.
