Hey guys,

The other day I sat down and looked at my hands when fishing.  It appears that I've developed a strange habit of cranking with my left hand when I'm working a spinning rig, and then if I swap over to a baitcaster,  I want to cast with my right arm, and then swap the rod to my left hand and crank with the right.

I picked up a left handed crank baitcaster the other day in a store, and it honestly felt odd to me.  Should I be looking into breaking myself of this habit, or should I just leave well enough alone?

This is discussed over and over again....there's no set way you should fish.  To me left handed baitcasters feel awkward.  It's preference really

Def no issues in how you fish I do the exact same. For some reason cranking a spinning rod holding the rod in my right hand with reeling on the left and then on baitcaster I cast with my right hand and then swap hands and retrieve with the right.

I just switched all my reels(bait casters) over to left handed models. It took a few hours to get used to it but i love them now!

i only use one b/c at this point still.

it a really old ambassador that i use for live bait only in the salt (hence baitcaster, i wont get started.... i hate those things).

but it is in a left handed model.

just how i feel comfortable.

I could never get used to top mounted cranks so I had mine built on the bottom.  It gives me more leverage being lower on the rod for when I cast, hold the rod and crank all in the same hand.

I always catch grief from my dad for this habit but the best is just to stick with whats comfortable
