Hey whats your favorite bait to throw during spawning season?

If you're asking about sight-fishing for bass that you actually see on the bed,

the lure is less important than the behavior of the lure.

Spawning bass have almost no interest in food, but both parents detest creatures that dare to enter their claimed territory.

I like the yum crawbug, but again "where" and "how" the lure spends its time is really the key.

While I don't particularly care for site fishing my #1 bait for late pre-spawn to early post spawn bass is a Texas Rigged Lizard.  

Jerk bait for me.  I don't bother bass on beds, I'll look elsewhere for my fish.

For spawnig fish the only two baits I use are Zoom lizards on a split shot rig, and GYCB senkos.

There are few things that are more realistic than the YUM crawbug.

bass beds are real shallow where i fish so i'll run a shallow crankbait over em or a rapala floater and hook up with a few.

i might have to try that this year, the entire pond i fish can be considered shallow and that could work really well

1/4 ounce straight black jig or a 4" Zoom Fat Albert Grub Texas tigged with a 3/16 oz bullet also like to dip the bottom 1/2 inch in chart. Spike-It.

Can't wait to try out those Mattlure BlueGill's, they nose dive perfectly.

I like using the Fat Ika, LC Pointers and Zoom Lizards.

Yeah I usually use straight worms for bedding bass, don't know they just like the straight worms for me when there on the nest. Best being GYCB Kut-Tail 5inch, Roboworm, and Gulp 6inch Nightcrawler (you have to examine the pack to see if they are fairly soft, and seem good, alot come too hard, or even too soft, gotta find a good pack).
