Lowrider vs. Crucial vs. Compre

Featured Replies

How do these rods compare to each other?  I am looking for a worm rod MH fast or ex fast around 7ft.  The compre felt kind of whippy compared to the other two, but I have not fished with any of them.  Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

i like them all equally. the Compre feels quicker in my hands but that could just be me.

i dont think youll go wrong either way you go.

I have the 7ft MH crucial its a great rod for throwing jigs in open water.

Compre: whippy? I've never held one or seen one but I'm most likely getting one. Are they really whippy? That's not at all what I want in my next rod.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a Lowrider XG myself.

None of the MH shimano rods are "whippy" as far as I'm concerned..Only ones that are whippy are the Lxf tods.  :)

You sure the compre you tried wasn't the MH Moderate Fast crankbait rod? The tags on them can be deceiving. I sold a Compre 6'10 MH XF rod that was as quick as the loomis BCR I have.

I have a compre mh fast for senkos and small jigs with 10 lb braid and I love it. Light and powerful.  Also I have a med Crucial fast for dropshotting and love that too for their applications.

Never heard of a lowrider except in LA Cali movies

I talked to my buddy who works at Cabelas and he said I was looking at the Medium Compre 7ft 1/4-3/4.  That explains why it felt weaker then the crucial.  Leaning toward the lowrider, but I am still undecided.
