best rod under $100

Featured Replies

In you guys opinion, what is the best rod for less than $100? I like the Falcon Original and American Rodsmith (champion series and limit stix). Notables Daiwa Procyon and American Rodsmith APEX. But top choice being the Falcon.

IMO $100 is the line that when crossed quality goes up a bunch.

With that said, the best bet for a really good rod, is to find a more expensive rod, used in the flea market section and go that route.

IMO

Might not be the most "sexy" rod out there, but the Shimano Compre is easily one of the best $100 rods out there IMHO.  Lifetime over the counter exchange warranty too!

Competition between rod companies for your dollars in this economy is fierce! Just look at some of the Lamiglas Excel, St Croix mojo bass, abu garcia vendetta, wright and mcgill tessera(skeet reese), or falcon bucoo to name a few... Good time to buy if you have the $

That is not a bad idea. I've gotten some really good deals on gear here. I have picked up avid rods for under $100 shipped here.

I would check out the falcon bucoo. havent personally used the bucoo but have a bud who has one and really likes it. I myself half a lowrider and a few caras, and love them. Cant go wrong with falcon

That Daiwa Tierra is a great rod for the money. At 60 dollars I doubt you'll find a better rod.

I have one rod left in that price range. I've sold, traded, or given away the rest.

The one I kept is a BPS Pro Finesse. Lists for $100, but is on sale regularly for $80. Got mine for $70.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better rod in that price range. If a finesse stick is what you're looking for, that is.

I will probably be in the minority, but I LOVE my BPS Extreme rods.  They were marked down to $59 last week too.

I'm probably in the same minority but I have two W&M Skeet Reese rods i love them. Go with what feels the best to you.

Lets add one more to that minority group. I buy them on sale and feel like I have an excellent rod at that price. The BPS PQ rod is a higher quality rod and is also on sale for $40.00 off.
