Featured Replies

i helped my neighbor with his salt water generator for his pool and saved him about $300 in parts. in return he just came over with a brand new revo S. i am a shimano man, but this reel looks and feels great. how is this reel? i have read many good things about revo's in general, but give me the pros and cons. thanks in advance.

I believe this is the model with the centrifugal brakes. As a shimano guy, this reel should feel at home in your hands.  Have fun with it. 8-)

Had the S-Lefty, nice reel but sold it off to get a couple more green 201 Curado's.

Nice reel though...

Tight Lines!!

The S reel is more enjoyable to use than a Pre-dual brake SX or STX.  Enjoy.

I had a revo s and i loved it.I threw it in the lake tho  .I had cold fingers and it sank out of sight before I could reach it.I'd love to have it back.

Great reel for casting - one brake on just grip it and rip it.

My fishing partner is always saying can you get us a little closer? No I am not going to start an argument and mention what brand reels he uses.

I'm mostly a shimano guy, but have 3 revo s's solid reel, great feel, good durability. you should do great with it, and if you decide yuo don't want it, I'm only a few hours up the road ;D

Boca,

I have been hit and miss the Revo's love my Skeet Reese model, I think its because it doesn't have magnetic brakes and hated all 3 of my previously owned Premiers.  As someone previously stated the S model doesn't have magnetic brakes so it may be great.

I have owned a handful of Revo's. Some STX's, an SX and an SC, now I have a Revo S and have found it to be the easiest of the lot to cast. In my opinion it handles similar to a Shimano. It has the best braking system of the Revo's. It is a very solid reel.

You asked for some Pro's and Con's of this reel...

Well for the Pro's:  Its a REVO!

And for the Con's: There aren't any!

You got a great neighbor!  Anything I've ever got from mine was a case of beer!

i have one set up for a big worm rig and i love it. it's not too expensive and it is so smooth. i can cast a big worm a half mile i love this reel. it was a great way to spend my graduation money  :D

Well for the Pro's: Its a REVO!

And for the Con's: It's not a Citica 200e!

JimmyMo3287 I totally agree. if only his neighbor had got him a Citica. :D
