In having recent conversations with some GAMMA staffers, I have been told that GAMMA sent out an e-mail that it will be closing it's fishing division and going back to a racquet string company only.

I have searched the web and cannot find any info, maybe they haven't formally announced it yet?

Anyone hear anything?

I think it's the difference between line and lures. Many of us think we can buy our way to more and bigger fish and there's a perception that a more expensive lure is a more productive lure. Line is important too, but doesn't play as big a role in attracting strikes.

I purchased a ton of Gamma filler spools in the Bargain Cave a month or two back.  Perhaps this is why they were on sale.

I liked their Florocarbon line a lot, the main reason I switched to Trilene 100% was because of price. If I see a good clearance price on Gamma I wouldn't hesitate to but it.

Cabela's had a blue light special on the gamma line last month I cleaned up on the 12lbs & 8lbs spools

Yup, the tackle shops have been ditching it for dirt cheap.

How much was Gander selling it for? I was there last week and they still had it on there wall with the other lines! :'(

Bummer, I really liked gama too.  Looks like I will be looking for a replacement.

GAMMA's website is still up and looks like i might get one or two bulk spools in 25 lb. test in green , wish i had the $$$ to buy like 7-10 bulk spools
