Does anyone put snaps on the line when fishing cranks and topwater to make changing them easier?  Do they help or detract from the lures action?

I dont, but I am very interested in the No-knot fast snaps. They look very small and cant see them doing anything to disrupt a particular lures action. Has anyone used these and what are your thoughts

I can probably tie a palomar knot faster than I can work a small little snap.  I also believe that they are typically very weak, and I don't want anything weaker than my line.

size 3 snap is 60 lb test and perfect for cranks.

I recently started using snaps often, and if anything they add to the action of the lure by allowing free movement.

I too use them they can be a pain but maybe I am just  getting too old!

Old eyes love them! I can change a bait without going for the cheaters. I use the red ones which in my mind adds a little +. And I figure I probably gain 30 minutes of fishing a day I'd lose tying knots. I've yet to have one break and it stops line twist from some lures. They are on all my poles except my spinner bait pole.

I only use snaps for Crankbaits and lipless cranks.  I've been using Duro snaps for the last few years, but I do modify the snap somewhat by increasing the angle of the locking part of the snap with a pair of needle nose pliers. I can still quickly change lures, but it takes more effort to do so.

I've also been removing the split ring from my cranks since the snap really does double duty by replacing the need for the spit ring. I've also noticed that by removing the split ring and just using a snap, that the number of times that I've foul hooked my line with the rear treble drastically decreases.

I've been using small duolock snaps for as long as I can remember and have a great deal of confidence in them. I can't detect any differences in action.

I use snaps on all cranks and spinnerbaits. (i make my own closed-eye spinbaits). Seems to me, tying to a split ring is asking for trouble with those sharp edges. I remove the split ring from the bait if it doesn't have the concave bill like a Rapala (or others). Oh, and i'll race anyone that thinks they can tie a knot faster than i can work a snap!
