Crankbait rod for deep divers.

Featured Replies

I have always been a St. Croix guy and have LTC70MM for smaller cranks but I see so many deep crankin rods from other companys on the market. I would like to hear what other fishermen opinions are.

I use a St. Croix AVC70MHM for big cranks.

I use a 7'MH Lucky Craft Cranking Rod

Whatever rod you get ,go with the MHM , that's what I use.

The Powell 806CB is a fine rod for the biggest baddest deep cranks.  I toss Manns 30+ in the summer and this rod handles them better than any other I've used.  It easily handles DD22's as well.  I also like the Cumara 7'11"MH reaction rod - it's sweet with DT 16's and DT 20's, and amazing with a DD22 as well.

Dobyns 805 Crankin rod. The ultimate deep crankin rod. It's an 8ft cranking rod for launching that bait a mile.

Lamiglas SR705R is THE BOMB!

I have mine saddled with a CTE200GT.

Thanks for all the quick replys. What do you think about all glass rods compared to the Glass/Graphite mix rods. One of the reasons I was looking at rods other than St Croix was because they are all Graphite. Maybe all Graghite rods are OK but the truth is I have not fished deep cranks that much and want to buy a good quality rod and not make a mistake.

Lamiglas XCC725 is a graphite glass composit, 7'2" 5 power.  Slow parabolic action but sensitive. The SR705R is all glass and a great stick but it is heavier. The new Excel 705 glass is selling faster than they can produce them.  I hear Powell's trap rod is hot as well.
