im not sure there is a truth about rods. ill tell you what i think but as soon as i do a poster will come along and disagree.

to me the truth is, you either like them or you dont like them.

My only problem with them are the guides.  Spinning rods have double footed guides.

Came close to buying one earlier this week, but they just don't seem to have any power.  Very whippy.

I have never fished one, but that has been my impression as well. On the other hand I know a guy on another forum that has switched all of his rods to them and says they are plenty strong.

I think they would make a decent cranking stick. They are very whippy though, with a VERY poor recovery when you bend them and allow them to straighten out. That is the mark of a junk rod IMO.

I still think that the St. Croix Premier is the best $100 rod out there. You do even better if you're willing to be patient and cruise the flea market forums on sites like this.

I used the S-Glass crankbait rod for a few minutes today with a Bandit 100. It was much lighter than I expected. FWIW I liked it. Is it worth $90? Depends on the budget. Good luck.

I have the swimbait one, the pitching one, and the topwater one, and I love them all. They have more backbone than I thought the would. Good deal IMO.

I have the S-glass Crank bait rod. I like it. It has more back bone then it seems. Well worth the money, and a good warranty ;)

I don't own one, but I've picked them up at Gander Mountain and remember being impressed with their weight and their design.

I compared it to a Mojo rod and there really was no doubt which I would spend my money on first.

The Skeet Reese rod.

Of course, I wasn't looking to actually buy a rod that day.  I was just teasing the bait monkey...

Honestly the rod has treated me well. At first I didn’t like it because I was used to a stiff rod faster action but then again I did buy a football jig/ big worm. The action with the rod is good. I can really lay into it. When I set the hook I have never had a problem. Great rod and with the money.

Do yourself a favor and consider Dobyns Colt series rod at $90 price point, new technology and good company.

When Skeet Reese started his pro career he was Lamiglas rod pro that he biult his carrier using. Skeet changes to Eagle Claw and off shore mass produced rods,a better deal for Reese, not better rods. Skeet Reese Eagle Claw rods are not worth $90 IMO.

Yeah I have probably bought over a dozen casting rods since then!

Don't even remember making this post haha, but it was probably around the time that they had come out. If anyone needs to know how this ended, I had a couple of those Skeet reeses. Still have one, don't use it hardly , returned the other because of defect. I'd choose something else if anyone is looking.
