Tube For Flipping ...

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a good tube that can be rigged texas style with a 4/0 Gama hook.  I'm really interested in the Schurbert Tubes that Kim Stricker promotes but I can not get any length information from the company.

Please help, what tube do you texas rig and with what size hook?

Take care all,

Steve

Prowler Pro Pitch Tubes (out of KY).

They are great baits. I also use their 'stubby tube' for finnesse applications (on a tube jig head).

Wide range of colors, loaded with salt, and reasonably priced. You can buy a 100 pack for $26.00!

With the 4" flippin tube, I use a 3/0 Gammy EWG hook, or if I'm skipping docks, I'll use the new Gamakatsu skipping hook.

God luck.

All the tubes mentioned are great. Try ISG tubes.

The problem with tubes Trig is they are bulky so over size on the hook. I use Daichi copper head hooks.

Mizmo or Venom 4", I have not flipped tubes as much as I used to since beavers have come out. I'll T-rig them with a 4/0 superline Gammy EWG, and a pegged tungsten weight. I have gone as light as 1/4 oz or as heavy as 1 oz depending on the cover.

Hey Steve I'm really good friends with the original owner/creator/designer of Schuberts and the I know the current owner pretty well too. Most of what you see in the stores are the 3.5 but they have alot of other stuff on the website. Just go to their website and buy direct. They have all the sizes listed and are maybe $.10 than at the store, sometimes cheaper. They've got a 4" and 5" model. If you need any help shoot me a PM.

anything 4" or bigger in your favorite color- I don't think details are that important for flip'n/pitch'n a tube. Color and hook selection to match the tube size are most important.

tube-x by vertical lures im sure they have your favorite color i usually use watermelon seed or black and blue

I agree with Megatron

I use the BPS Magnum Flipping Tube.  I usually buy the 50 pack and its pretty reasonably priced. (Less than $20/ 50).  I think its a good tube and I have caught a bunch of fish on them over the years.

All in All, get a tube that comes in a color you have confidence in.  You don't have to spend a bunch of money on tubes because they are all very similiar in design and function.

I use Strike King Flippin' Tubes in watermelon chartreuse, pearl pepper, and black with blue tail.  I won't use anything less than a 4/0 EWG hook on a fat tube.  There are a lot of good tube brands out there.

x3 here. These things are awesome when jigged up and down in the cover.Something a little different to show the fish.

ISG's Intimidator Tube.  Best cut tails of any tube I've used...every strand uniformly cut and not stuck together.

I do like to flip a big tube a lot as well, and since ISG doesn't make a 5" tube, I go with the 5" Right Bite magnum tube.  I'm a big fan of the 'green squash' color that looks like baby poo yellow or puke.
