what line do you prefer

Featured Replies

For me all of the above -Example

mono-topwater, trebble baits,helps float

braid- for flippin- pitchin cover

floro- when line sight is more important but yet abrasion resistant

I mostly use mono and braid, with braid playing a bigger and bigger role all the time.

Trying to like fluoro, have it on 2 or 3 rods, but not seeing the great benefits that I get with braid.

Should have multipal choices... ;)

Swimbaits, flippin and pitchen jigs..55lb braid, sometimes I use a fluro leader, depends on the cover.

Light stuff 6lb Seaguar InvisX fluro , on the spinning rigs.

Spinnerbaits ect..10 or 12 lb Seaguar AbrasX fluro on my baitcasters. I will also throw Light swimbaits on the 12lb fluro.

i voted for all the above . flouro for crankbaits and bottom presentations , braid for frogs and topwater , mono/co-poly for swimbaits .

So much depends on where and how. The lakes I usually fish are gin clear. So I use fluorocarbon for most applications. Mono for surface, spinner baits and shallow cranks. Braid for the main line on C-Rigs and either a mono or floro leader.

braid. for everything. even my UL's are rigged up with braid.

I use mono for everything except for frogs and heavy cover applications (50 pound power pro), and I use power pro for hard jerkbaits too.

I've used monofilament line for about 50 years,

but since 2006 I've been hooked on braid :-[

I use co-poly and some fluorocarbon, can't stand braid, more trouble than it's worth.

there's a line management system article on this site which makes sense.  to me anyway.  i love braid, but use mono and fluoro also.

i use floro on everything but topwater...i will use braid for flipping or c-rig main line but rarley.

Been fishing braid for a long time and out of options on the water I had to switch to flouro.  I have been impressed and will still keep some braid for spinners or other expensive baits I put in some real hairy spots, and at least one rod with mono for spooks and such, but everything else is going to flouro.

I change between mono and braid depending on water clarity....

I was using Suffix quite a bit (the green is easy to see) but recently switched to Power Pro which is smoother and casts really nicely but is invisible to my older eyes. ;)

For mono I'm using Cajun 10LB right now but I don't have a favorite. Transoptic was meh (user error)...
