Bass Majic

Featured Replies

I just bought some of these in the 6.5". Pretty sweet lookin. I cant wait to give them a whirl. I'm hoping for some 5+lb bass on these.

One thing though. These things stink. They smell like acetone or something. I'll have to put some scent in there.

How you guys riggin these.  I was just going to rig it weightless t rigged.

Haven't found a weighted or unweighted hook that will work on the 6" baits.  Lake Fork Tackle is making a 10/0 weigted with a very wide gap that will work, but you can't find any of them yet.  Had someone give me 1.  I did find some 11/0 Owner offset oversize worm hooks I will make do with until I can get the Lake Fork hooks.  Don't like the offset hooks for the Bass Magic, but that is all I can get for now.

Owner makes a 6/0 screwlock hook that I crimp some weighs on that work for the 4.5" baits but 6/0 is as big as they make.  That is the style of hook the Lake Fork hook is.

I'm going to try cutting a slit in the bottom so the bait doesn't get scrunched up from the hook. I have some weighted owner 4/0s and  a 5.5 inch bait.  I read somewhere that it works. We'll see.....

JJ's Magic has some clear garlic dip that will take care of that smell. It won't hurt the plastic either.

Finally someone jumped on this hole in the market:

Up to 8/0 and 1/2oz.

As for the odor: I let them air out for a week and the odor has dissipated. Since it's a horizontally fished bait I doubt the remaining scent will be an issue.

What's a bass majic?

It's one of the hollow-bodied swimbaits like the BassTrix. The Bass Magic is made by Luck-E-Strike.
