What is the best Fuji reel seat on the market right now

Featured Replies

Just curious what you all prefer

Which is better

ACS

ECS

TCS

or the skeleton

how big of a part does the reel seat play in your rod purchase?

I prefer the ECS seat, plain and comfortable.  The skeleton seat would be second, I don't care for the ACS much, I don't find it comfortable at all, and the TCS well, never fished with one but I like an exposed reel seat.  Whoever makes the XPS reel seats for BPS needs to sell them, they are one of the most comfortable seats I have used.

Personally I'm a fan of the skeleton

An ACS seat is a big turn off for me.  They get beat up bad with use, and aren't comfortable.  I'll take an ECS any day.  Daiwa seats are always comfy too.

I have big ol' hands and the ACS seat just feels completely wrong.

My vote is for the ECS.

I think I've got only ECS (or similar) reel seats and one ACS.  So far the ACS is my most comfortable rod to grip.

if you completely palm your reel (pinkie and ring finger next to the trigger ) an ACS 17mm is the most comfortable and best reel seat made .....  :)

They're the exact same reel seats, Dobyns just put those "Fish 2 Win" stickers on their rods, if you remove those, it'll say the exact same thing on the right "Quality Fuji Products". Mine came off and that's why I know.

Those kinds are my favorite Reel seats though!!!

ACS is picky on which reel you use.  With daiwas and shimanos I find the ACS great but anything with a large low slung main gear will interfere with the palming and pinch fingers against the center rib of the seat.  You want to press your fingers into the bottom of the seat and the large hump of the gear housing on some reels will make your fingers lift off the bottom of the reel seat so you naturally move your finger tips go to the back of the housing to be able to have your fingers in contact with the reel seat.  This creates pinching of the center rib of the seat bottom and your fingers and has moved your fingers to a place they were not designed to go on the seat.  The seat is very comfortable if your fingers end up where they are supposed to but not all reels will allow this.
