Ok, I'll start by saying that for mono line I'm a regular ole stren guy in clear, not clear blue, just clear.  It's been getting hard to find.  Anyway, was thinkin of switchin it up for my topwater and crankin stuff.  Anyway, what are everyone's opinions on Suffix Elite?  Does it frey like trilene does/did?  Hows the knot strength?  Any issues with this line? 

I've been using it for 1.5-2 years now, and really have no complaints. It's strong, smooth, and extremely consistant. It seems a bit stretchier than the Trilene XL I had been using, but the knots hold well.

Suffix Elite is my favorite Mono fishing line.

I had the 8 lb in green and really like it. I had a problem with the clinch knot slipping so I starting using the Palomar knot and I think Trilene knot. No problem since. It cast great and to me does have good strength.

I recently tried Siege and Deep Crankin Mono-both good lines.

I bought Elite (12 lb. on a MH rod) as my first line for my first baitcasting setup after doing a lot of research. So far I am happy with it. Haven't encountered a problem with knots not holding. I use the Uni, but am going to give the Palomar and Snell knots a shot. I've also picked up some 8 lb. Pline CX to try on my medium action rods.

Original Stren is my go to. Trilene XL just won't hold up, and I've heard too many bad reports on suffix. P Line CX premium is another good one, but since it's fluorocarbon coated it's not ideal for topwaters.

I now use Sufix, either Elite or Siege, anytime I use mono. I've been using it for a couple of years now.

When i first got my dad into fishing i got him a spool of Suffix Elite, since then (about 3 years ago ) he has never used a different line!! although i think he will be trying out P-Line cxx when one of his poles needs to be restrung.

can't go wrong with it or siege.

Sufix Elite is the best mono I've used so far. I use the 17# on my heavy spinnerbait combo and 12-14# on my buzzbait setups.

It's soft yet doesn't kink badly and has average abrasion resistance. Elite is very easy casting, more so than with the other mono and copoly lines I like and use for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits, like 10-12# P-Line CXX and 14-17# Big Game. An Improved Clinch tied on this line is very durable and hard to break.

After using Stren since the 60's I tried Elite 4 or 5 years ago and didn't see much difference. Last year I switched to Siege and found it has more abrasion resistance than Stren or Elite. 

I have used Suffix Elite for the last 2 seasons.  I like it a lot for spinning reels.  I just started using Suffix Siege on my baitcasters and I like that even better.  It casts really well, has great knot strength and is very durable.

I've been using it for 5 years now...mostly on spinning reels. I love it. I had 1 bad spool once. But, I may have been left over in my (hot) basement from the year before. I stripped it off the 2 reels and respooled (from a new spool)  after my trip and never had another hiccup
