New Rod Suggestion

Featured Replies

Hey guys...long time lurker, first time caller-or something like that...

Right now I have a Johnny Morris 6.4:1 baitcaster with a BPS bionic blade 7' MH rod. I love my reel but I'm not sold on the rod. I like it for cranks and spinners, but it's not sensitive enough for me in the tip. Can you guys point me in the direction of a quality rod in the $75 to $100 range that's sensitive enough in the rod for jig fishing etc. but still has enough backbone? Thanks!

Wait for BPS to have a sale and get a Pro Qualifier.

Falcon Bucoo, its on the upper end of your range but very much worth it.

Shimano Compre, heads and shoulders over the Bucoo.

SHIMANOS perform great, but they're styling isn't my cup of tea. (except for Cumuls, Cumara, and Crucial they get an A+)

i have yet to notice their styling really. i have noticed i can feel a bite just fine with 8# test and long casts. i thought the Bucoo was tip heavy and not as sensitive as my Browning Midas rods.

but, to each their own.
