Parts for older reels?

Depends on the reels.  Sometimes you can find parts from the OEM.  Other times, I scour eBay for "parts cars."  The latter is often the cheapest route.

Ya it really depends on the reel. You can check with the usual suspects by Googling -  Reel Parts but 10 years is a hit or miss proposition

I'd check with the manufacturer first.  They often have older parts and good prices.  If that fails, Southwestern (above) also carries lots of stuff.

..... and if those fail, then you can e-bay for old reels for spare parts.

The new rule of thumb is any reels over 6 yrs of age are discontinued and parts support is curtailed. Many reels over 10 yrs of age will not have the major parts available for them, mostly the parts available will be crossover parts..

Best bet is to contact the MFG first then the large parts houses, then finding a suitable reel for parts.

Good Luck & Tight Lines!

You might also try Bass Pro's rod and reel repair center. The have parts for lots of brands - not just their own stuff. I'd call them first.http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CFPage?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&appID=40&option=2
