so i was just wondering what type of line you put on baitcasters and spinning reels, and what types of lures and techniques you use on each. I figured I'd ask for askings sake...

30# braid with a 12# fluoro leader on all baitcasters except frog rod and topwater rod...65# braid with no leader on the frog rod and 30# braid with 12# mono on the topwater rod..

20# braid with fluoro leader from 8# to 12# on spinning rigs...leader weight dependent on where and what I'm throwing.

I throw nearly everything with a baitcaster...use the spinning rigs for really light jigs and jerk bait fishing.  Also plan to use the spinning rods for dropshotting this year.

Spinning tackle: Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft #6

Weightless and lightly weighted soft plastics. Especially

Senko, Fat Ika, Hula Grub, Rage Tail Baby Craw and

Slug-Go or flukes.

Baitcasting gear: Hybrid #12

Everything else, especially "moving" lures.

I fish mostly with nylon ( Big Game ) for most of the baits and most of the techniques; I do have some reels spooled with P-Line CXX, some with Yo-Zuri Hybrid and a couple with Power Pro.

Spinning I use 20# braid. Ultra lights I use 10# braid. On my baitcasters I use 14# flouro, 20# braid, and 50 # braid.

All my casting rods are either 20 or 30lb PowerPro, except my flipping rod, that has 50. I use a leader of mono or floro as necessary.

Spinning rods, I use 2/10 PP with a leader as necessary. The hair thin line allows me to use a smaller reel (I use 1000 size Shimano reels) and it keeps the overall weight of the combo down.

More often than not, I'll just tie straight to the braid in all but the clearest waters.

Shimano Curado 51E / G Loomis BCR803 GLX is spooled with 12# Tatsu Fluoro

Shimano Curado 201E / St. Croix Avid AVCMHF is spooled with 40# Daiwa Samurai Braid

Revo Winch / Shimano Compre Crankin' stick is spooled with 12# Yo-Zuri Ultrasoft

I use leaders at times and change line frequently although I'm pretty set for this year.

Spinning: 20# or 30# braid with a 6-10# fluoro leader

Casting: 30# or 50# braid, either straight braid or with 10-17# fluoro leader depending on the technique and water clarity

Trilene XL on everything 6 - 14lb test.

I haven't decided yet what line I'll use for my new swimbait rod.

Braid- 40-65# - Jigs and T-rigs.

Everything else gets 12- 17 lb fluoro, including topwaters.

Crankbait=Spinning rod 6# cabelas flouro on one spool and 30# power pro braid on the other

Crankbait=Casting rod 30# power pro with no leader

Dropshot=Spinning rod 30# power pro with no leader

Light jig=Spinning rod 30# power prod with no leader

Heavy jig/Frog=Casting rod 50# braid

Other setups have mainly braid or yo zuri
