symetre vs supreme xt??

Featured Replies

Of the two which one would you purchase?

Thanks

My last thread about spinning reel.  :)  Being indecisive.

i havent owned a symetre, only played with a couple in store, and it seems like a very nice reel, smooth and a good price. im not a huge fan of the stumpy handle length, but not sure if it would be noticable in the real world.

i do, however, own 2 supreme xt's (older gold colored model) and they are fantastic reels, very smooth, good drags, and if you find one of the gold ones, a great deal for the price. landed quite a few 5lb bass and many 20-25" walleye with the reel, and it has performed flawlessly.

the new black supreme xt is pretty much the same reel as the gold one, just with a  new spool and a carbon handle, saving a few tenths of an ounce, but the feel of the EVA knob is not for everyone.

What is a EVA knob?

I recently purchase a Symetre 500 for an ultralight

rig. The 2500FJ is the reel you want:

Strong, smooth, silent and reliant.

8-)

I only have two spinning reels. A Supreme and a Supreme XT. Not a heck of a lot of difference between the two. Buy whichever you can find a bargain on. You'll be happy with either.

All of my baitcasters are Daiwa. I picked the Supremes for spinning because, in the price range, neither Daiwa nor Shimano makes a spinning reel as light and smooth as these.

Definitely Supreme XT. I used to have a few Symetre 2500's (the previous version, not the new FJ) but I sold them all in favor of Supremes.

If you are gonna use it alot get the Symetre FJ.  I have three now and looking at buying more.

Go for the Supreme XT its a good deal right now.

For some reason my luck with a Shimano (Stradic ) hasnt been all that good. So rather hesitant to get another Shimano reel but did look at them Sahara Symetre Stradic but then the deal on the Supreme XT came up hit on it. I have reels from many companies so not really partial to any just what works the best for me.

supreme xt, it's the only spinning reel I have used for a while now and I love it.

I would go with the Supreme XT, it is very smooth and light and also comes with an extra spool, the Symetre while it is an outstanding reel and performs very well does not come with an extra spool any more.  Now if the extra spool is not something you are worried about then get the Symetre.
