Do you have a case for the camera that allows you to mount it and keep it plugged in? My case doesn't have an opening for the charge port and I can't mount it to the boat without the case...

My new one has two different backs, I used a dremel on my old one and drilled it out.

Mine has different backs as well but the charge port is on the side. Dremel is a good idea but I'll probably have to buy another case on the off chance I decide to take it in the water. Dremel holes aren't very water proof.

Hey guys I am planning a camping trip this fall with my wife, and my parents.  We are tentatively thinking sometime in October.  Where would you guys recommend?  Anything within a 4-5 hr drive would be best.  Ideally, a town nearby would help since it wouldn't be exclusively a fishing trip.  Right now I am thinking Milford or Table Rock but I am definitely open to other suggestions.

Mine is the "frame" case. Pretty slick. Access to everything and will attach to whatever mount you have. $10, do it. AND IT'S NAMED AFTER YOUR FAVORITE REEL.

If camping is the primary, the Norfork/Bull Shoals area has some great land around it. We like to camp at Pettit Campground and float the North Fork of the White, which feeds into Norfork Lake. Really good brown trout to be had on that stretch too.

But if fishing is the primary I'd go to the Rock.

White River below Bull Shoals. Go throw jerkbaits at monster brown trout. It's beautiful below the dam with a nice camp site. Mountain Home isn't far away and you can go to Flippin, AR, the home of Ranger Boats. You can always jump up on the main lake too if you have your boat.

Thanks for the suggestions guys but I think my dad is convinced on Milford.  He figured it would be the best option to maximize our fish catching because we might not be fishing a ton so the less we have to "figure out" the better.

Hit up Miola after work tonight- after a couple weeks of really struggling with some new lakes since moving to the Kansas side, it was really nice to get something figured out. I ended up with about 15 or so (plus a few chatterbait catfish) in a couple of hours biggest being around 18" with at least one more lost of similar size.  Fish were on senkos and Neds drifted past the water willow edge switching to a chatterbait as it got later... Threw a buzzbait through sunset without much action, but seeing the moon rise at the ramp tonight had me half tempted to relaunch. Despite the heat it was a good evening to be out. WT 87-90

Next time try a craw or beaver.  The fish we caught on Sunday night were fat and can't believe someone hasn't weighed a 5 plus out of there yet this year.

Good to know- I fished a beaver on a power shot around some of the more interesting deeper stuff adjacent to channel swings, but really didn't give beavers and creatures much of a chance. 

Admittedly, my biggest problem (especially on the solo trips, shorter after work trips, or on new lakes) is getting too locked on to specific, usually over finesse pattern. One of my big goals this season is working  on is getting away from decent bite on my confidence rigs and 'tinker'. Never super easy, but that's how you figure things out.

Unfortunately as much of a finesse guy I am, Miola isn't the place for it. Those fish are up thick in the grass and you need to bring out the big sticks. But I've had no problem this year smoking fish there (and anywhere with comparable grass) with nothing more than a t-rigged beaver (D-Bomb, Rodent, or Pit Boss) on a 1/4 oz. tungsten. Sure you can throw a wacky rigged senko at the edges and pick off a few smaller fish, but the ones you want are in it. That's pretty much been my pattern this past month on any SFL we all fish.

Last all day for my tournaments.

All night ops this week, too dang hot to be out during the day. Linn Valley was decent Wednesday night with a healthy 3 pound fish being the largest, minus the blue heron I caught on a wobbler  Never saw the stupid thing until it leaned into my line as it was taking off from the dock. Line caught around it's wing and hook buried in it's side. Tried hard to get it loose with the lure retriever, no way I was getting within reach of that beak. Line ended up breaking so it has some nice black and blue bling hanging off it. My favorite night fishing spinnerbait, a black and blue with black nickel bladed War Eagle, finally broke when a smallie went airborne.Sunfish and bluegills out there are unreal out there, bought a new fly rod yesterday to make use of them  . Tied on a buzzbait with about 3 hours left in the night. First cast sounded like someone dropped a brick in the water, almost glad that fish missed it because I doubt it was a bass. Sight fished 4 fish that were cruising below the surface and easy to see in the bright moonlight, pretty unique experience.

Thursday I tried La Cygne. Water was high, dirty (couldn't even see the trolling motor head), and HOT (94 at the ramp at 10pm). Tried the dam, shad so thick you could walk on them instills little confidence. A full trip down the dam with 1 3.5 pounder and a drum to show for it didn't help. I bailed and went to Miola. Had a lot of fun catching fish on a buzzbait, BHW, frog, and flipping a pit boss in the grass. Had to leave the headlamp on to deal with the grass, which I don't like doing. One cast with the wobbler, I was looking down when my bait got close and saw 2 big glowing eyes right behind my bait. It spooked when it saw me, but it was pretty cool to watch a saugeye track the bait like that. Frog fish were just mad at the world, scaring me bad each time, which was weird since the buzzbait fish barely made a sound, I just felt them. Biggest was right at 3 pounds and 18" on the Code Blue.

Post up when you're needing a back seater and I bet one of the guys will join you. 

Just like Brian said, but peg the weight. They like a frog also.  Those fish are either deep in it or right on the edge once you figure that out it's game on. If your there long it will change. @Advantage uses like a 6oz weight and punches through the thickest stuff he can find with a pitboss.

Pretty sure it's just a tungsten brick with a hole drilled through it. 

So I know there are areas on the forum specifically for talking fish finders but just curious what the guys fishing in my area use/think. 

I predominantly fish upper Osage end of LOZ, lots of shallow flats and boat docks so I'm guessing side imaging will be crucial. Is there a certain brand/model that anybody could recommend?  Anybody try Garmin fish finder with side view? 

Trying to stick around $500. (Boat is only worth about $3k so trying to keep every thing in perspective). Any and all advice is appreciated and sorry if I'm messing up the flow of the discussion with this.
