@Thefrog22 and I fished Middle Creek last night.  Bite was tough for us, but APPARENTLY keith slayed 'em and boated 30 bass.  He had big bass with a 1-11.

I think our boat only had seven fish boated, and nothing worth taking a picture of as our biggest was only 1-6.  I lost a good frog fish right at the boat when I tried to boat flip him.  Such is the froggin' life.  Chigger craw on a C&C rocker head did most of the damage for me.  Dwight had a rough night, but managed a couple on a beaver.

Thursday heartache at Bone Creek!  We were on the lake about 9:00 am.  Fished the riprap on the dam but nothing going on.  Moved to the big timber on the Creek Chanel.  WaLa, a monster, thought is was a big drum but then I saw the flash.  It was the biggest bass Ive ever had on my line.  Had to go 30 inches, I was fishing with my Dad in his Champion bass boat.  He has this thing about no fishing with a net.  Keep the rod tip up and lip the fish. Ugh!  Anyway this big sow was at the boat, then looked me in the eye, rolled and was gone.  So fun.  Bouncing crank baits off the trees and deep skirting jigs.  The day trip was productive, we caught several fish with one over 4 lbs.  Can"t wait to try again.

An @Advantage report? For Louisburg Middle Creek? Haven't fished that lake in probably 20 yrs. 

But then again...I hadn't fished Clinton in 20 yrs either! Just sayin! Lol

There was an 8+ lb'er weighed in at a tourney there back in the spring.

Sounds like a good trip.

Fish tend to look bigger in the water, but just an FYI, the 22lb 5oz bass that Manabu Kurita tied the world record with, wasn't quite 30".

 

A few brown fish from Wolf Creek. They were eating topwater baits really well for the first 3 hours we were there before the bite died off. Bonus footage of Adam swinging a 3 pounder on the pompadour. Probably 30 fish between the 2 of us on the day.

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knew any good deep lakes. I went to Kentucky Lake for the Bassmaster high school National Championship and wow talk about tough. I need to learn how to fish deep. I know Smithville towards the dam starts getting deep but I didnt know if anybody had any suggestions on where to go. Thank you in advanced

How deep is deep? I know of some deeper lakes, but there's no fish out there. You're going to have to head to the Ozarks to find deeper fish. The population in the lakes around here just aren't dense enough for fish to need to go offshore in any numbers.

I know a lot of teams fished deep ledges in that event, but I read that the winning team threw floating jerkbaits in less than 3' of water!

I have a buddy that fishes the weekly Smithville tourney, and he says that a lot people tear them up on deep cranks on main lake points in the summertime up there.

A lot of lakes in the KC area are 20 ft or less and most times you don't need to fish any deeper than 10 ft. (Thermocline , this time of year, on most lakes around here is @ 12-15 ft range and rarely do the bass go below it)

Got poured on for quite a while, didn't bring the GoPro back out once the rain finally passed and didn't get the biggest of the day. 19" and somewhere in that 3.5 range. Plopper at about 12:30 on a wind and chop blown point. Gotta love it. Caught fish on a small Keitech, Wobbler, tube, and even got silly with a dropshot towards the end of the day just cause. 

 

Like your video's but it's a little concerning that you don't have more respect for the fish you catch.

To me anything 10 foot plus is deep. I know towards the dam on smithville it gets deep and I know Stockton is deep.

we fished shallow and didnt catch jack the second day of the tournament...  I threw the whole d**n tackle box at them expect for the Jerk bait. it was fun regardless and a great learning experience.  It made me relize that i need to learn deep finesse techniques and just go deep for once.

Are you referring to the drum (trash fish) he caught and released? He did give it a high dive release but it did get released...which is better than I'd have done with a trash fish. All the smallies he caught were handled properly and released properly.

I don't know if comparing it to walleye is fair, but blackened redfish is pretty darn tasty.

I think "some" refers to raccoons, vultures, and other scavengers, which happily eat the drum that I leave on the side of the ramp.

Just a serious question, have you ever tried eating them?   I have not eaten freshwater drum, but from what I have read and seen it looks like very nice meat.

It's funny how you know which one of you guys are friends and which one's are the new ones. Wonder why people don't post that much when everyone jumps all over them.
