Hi KC Fellas,

It's been five long years since I moved from the KC area (and fished the KC waters), but this Friday I'm heading back "home" to fish for a full day on my favorite Kansas lake: La Cygne 

Couple questions:

The water looks very high based on Bluebasser's fish filled video romps.  Is the water too high to effectively wade near the outlet area?  (We will most likely be wading).  I'd love to fish that current area, but it looks way more steep than it did a few years ago.  We'll probably venture to the western shore and cove areas as well.   

What's the water clarity looking like?  Kansas clear (can see the head of the trolling motor?)  Worse? Better?  

That's it for my questions. 

If anyone is out and about at Lacygne on Friday and sees a couple Nebraska dudes, be sure to give a holler.

You can wade but you will need waders. The water isn't up, the bank is eroding away along that side. 

It was much clearer than it has been this past week and would definitely qualify as Kansas Clear.

With the weather ND water warming up, the fish are venturing further away from the warm water, so directlyin the hot water over the fence hasn't been the best area lately.

Thanks for the info Blue!  Man, that bank has eroded a ton. 

It looks as though we are boat bound now, so we'll be checking out several areas in and away from the hot water.  Say hey if you see an oldish, sparkly blue bass boat with Cornhuskers beating the water to a froth.  I'll be praying to the wiper gods tomorrow night .

 

This weather is really making me think about going and getting the boat! Sucks haha

No I moved back to Basehor in April so out of the county. Heard they had a amazing year though! I fished all the Kansas Buddy Bass except the Championship because Jamie was due with out first kid anytime around that time so decided to stay home! Debating on doing the Kansas Buddy Bass again just don't know if I want to do Team and Solo series.

Where is everyone headed this weekend?

Didn't know you two were expecting, congratulations man. I heard Wyco was great but only fished twice in November and didn't do great but I did get a keeper smallie. Fishing BBB in April. UT that's my only tournament on the schedule for now.

I'm going to try to get to Lone Star on my one partial day off tomorrow because it gets a good early bite but I doubt it happens.

Adam and Cole both were sending me pics of the usual Lone Star specials this morning while I was briefly at Clinton. I'm really anxious to get out there.
