Featured Replies

What are some of your favorite bass books on fishing New England's waters?

I maybe just being ignorant but I think BassBets 1 2 3 are pretty much the gold standard. I personally dont really know of any others....

Yup, they are hard to find now. Though the baits and such have changed, most of the spots on the lakes still produce.

I think they stink.  I went to 2 lakes and fished the spots in that season and used lures like they recommend and nada.

It may be a rough guide to seasonal patterns but I do better using my intuition.

sorry Tin

Clarks Fishing Guide.  Don't leave home without it.

X2...for NH waters anyway.

If you're in CT specifically, the DEP puts out a book titled 'A Fisheries Guide to Lakes and Ponds of Connecticut.' I just pick it up a couple weeks ago and it looks really good. It has all the topography maps as well as fish populations and densities for most of the (non-private) lakes and ponds in CT. The ISBN-13 is 9780942085112 for those who are interested.  ;)

What is bass bets 123 and where can you get them?

So, I'm not allowed to post links I guess, but if you google

"Masswildlife state pond maps"  the first result will take you to a website with maps and fishing info for many of the major lakes and ponds in MA.  Good, but not compelete information.

Also, keep in mind that imo, MassWildlife and DCR are a bit out of touch with reality.
