The lakes here in Kansas are down some around 10 feet and more. I went walking out on a big flat the other day and noticed all these "holes" some with water some without ? I have no idea what caused these or what they are? My roomate went along and he thought crawdads but i didnt' think so they range from 6 inches to 3 feet across!! Anyone have any ideas ?

Looks like the kids from China want to dig to the U.S....most U.S. kids want to dig to China, and China kids should naturally do the same.

See?  Looks mighty suspicious to me...  ;D

Maybe its from somone casting a 2oz weight?

Or maybe its a fish/crawdad nest. I know sunnies and bass dig out the sand and make a small indent for their nests....

But i think Troutfishers idea is the most probable ;)

These are evidence of the first scouts sent to Earth to begin the invasion. Those "holes" are created by the landing supports for space probes from Krypton. When the Krytonites get out and walk around, they cause the dried mud to crack, hiding their tracks. Be alert! They are scouting the plains of Kansas for a suitable camp to begin to colonize the state. It is rumored that they formed a cell in Lawrence. From there they will spread to all corners of the planet.

The aliens can blend into the human population. They call themselves "Jayhawks."

DO NOT STICK YOUR FACE OVER THE HOLE!!!!

Haven't y'all seen Alien? ;D ;)

Seriously, those are the drain holes that they used to drain 10' of water out of the lake. Notice any white rubber plugs laying around? :) If not, they took 'em back to the warehouse for inventory control. Happens all the time. La da deet de da....Gotta go.................

How close are these holes to the shore?

The holes were 150-200 yards or so from the water. Also some of them with water had bubbles coming up so i'm thinking maybe there's an underground spring? I still act like a little kid sometimes and had to step in one and sank up to my knee!!
