What browsers do you guys use? It came with 6mos of free OL, my girlfriend uses that but I don't care for it It feels like they take over your computer!

Thanks

cool Muddy,  gotcha new pewter.  Now you can surf the web even faster and reply with more entertaining posts.

Congrats on the computer and you better be nice to that Gfriend.  Atleast for awhile.

Muddy Man The reason you plug your refrigerator to the monitor is in case you need a cold adult beverage.

Muddy, didn't you just get a new system a couple of months ago?  The Dell's are real easy to hook up, just follow the quick start guide.

Hooking up the monitor to the fridge might be cool, but hooking up cable to the system will make it sing.

Hey Fellas IM Live and in Color!!!! Wow what a difference from the 7 yearold Gateway No Zel I had Microsoft office installed on the old one it had too little memory for me to do school work

Now I gotta see how all this works I can burn CD's and DVD's and I don't have a clue yet

Muddy,

No matter what anyone tells you, coffee is not a good keyboard lubricant (inside joke).

Yo muddy thats sweet. Just remember the disk drive slot isnt a cup holder,  the ram drive has nothing to do with dodge trucks, and megabites has nothing to do with big fish eating bait, and everything should work out fine. ;)

Dude, you got a Dell! 8-)

lol, I say thast all ther time when I deliver them.  Said it to someone's mom a couple weeks ago, she looked at me like "dude, what are you talking about" lol

So what Browsers do you guys use? Someone mentioned fire fox I just may stay with Explorer 7 til I get more comfortable  with it.

I've been using IE7 since yahoo gave it away a feww onths ago, and I've had zero problems with it.  It took a little while to get used to, but I have to say its not a bad browser.

muddy,

give firefox a try,  you will not regret it.  we use it at work, i use it at home, never had a problem with it.  We even use Thunderbird for our email,, it is so much nicer than outlook.... imho.

Firefox is very user friendly, and is easy to get rid of if you do not like it for some reason.

Congrats muddy on your new Dell. Ought to be a nice puter for ya. I am not sure what software you are running. Some people downloaded IE7 and didn't have any problems. My laptop pc is homemade and a white box solution, and I am loaded up. I had problems with IE7 because of some conflictions. I dumped it. I still have IE six loaded but, I downloaded Mozilla Firefox and really like it. I run XP Professional. Microsoft has had problems for awhile on security and I download all the patches, etc but, in  Microsoft security I turned off "Download and Install Auto". I like to look at what I am downloading first. I like that I am told there are downloads available but, I like to chose which ones to install myself. If you don't do this after you have all the patches and such installed it will eventually get around to IE7 again. PM me if you have any questions and I will attempt to help you. Do you have DSL, Wi-Fi or Dial up? Go to www.cnet.com and read the reviews on Firefox. Look under browsers. There was a article giving a comparison of IE7vs MF.

P.S.-- Everyone knows you cannot run a pc through the refrigerator first. You have to sequence it through the stove>dishwasher>microwave and then the refrigerator,LOL. ;D

My son is a big computer guru.....the first thing he does when fixing or servicing one is convert it to firefox. I don't know a whole lot but he told me it prevents pop ups and it also lets you know when the website you are on is secure (the website address at the top of the screen is highlighted in yellow when on a secure site). Thats nice to know when you order something online and enter credit card numbers or if you do online banking. He also tells me it is more secure overall so I just believe him. Heck, if he lied to me and I found out that would be the end of free beer for him so I suspect he's on the up and up about it.

I do know that it won't help if you spill coffee on the keyboard

You Shimano dudes are all alike Risk and Alp REVENGE IS SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!
