Shame on you ESPN2

Featured Replies

I don't know about you guys but I am pretty annoyed that the saturday morning fishing shows have been cut down and now that rediculous Cindy Garrison has a show on BASS SATURDAY! If I want to watch blondes in tight clothes saying stupid things I'll turn on the Dallas cowboys cheerleaders making the squad. If they want to have more women on Saturday mornings why don't they show the women's bass tournaments?

Thats it LBH's friends are here There goes the neighborhood

I guess that's what ESPN meant when they stated they were going to grow the sport. :-[

At least they're not still showing Rods & Wheels every week.

They usually cut back a bit on fishing programming around this time every year.

Show hunting shows in the spring/summer when there aren't many seasons open.  Show fishing shows in the winter when half the country is unable to get on the water.

Guys,

If you don't get the VS channel then you have to request it.  ALL your favorite shows are now on that network.  For those of you that have DirecTV it's channel 608.  Also the Outdoor Network is great, which is channel 606.

Hey if its available in your area Comcast has The Outdoor Channel which is really good...mostly hunting shows but real good ones, but also alot of bass fishing.

Redlinerobert is right.  The Saturday fishing shows on VS are excellent.

Here is the schedule of the shows.  I think there are 3 or 4 in each segment:

Saturdays at 12:30 ET/11:30 AM CT

Tuesdays at 11:00 AM ET/ 10:00 AM CT

Fridays at 10:30 AM ET/9:30 AM CT

The times need to be changed to Saturday mornings so most of us can see the productions.

The segments are scheduled to be broadcast through March 18.

The presenters include Kevini VanDam, Stacey King, Woo Daves, Rick Clunn, Edwin Evers, Jason Quinn and Rick Clunn.

I need to figure out how to TIVO them as long as they don't interfere with my wife's Food Channel shows.

The versus channel is where it's at. I had my directv on record from about 8a to noon this past Saturday. If you don't have it definately check into it.

I agree with the majority. V.S. as it is listed is a great channel for fishing shows now.

They also have shows with Hank Parker (which are the same as his show on Outdoor channel but with a different name), Fishing with Roland Martin, The Scott Martin Challenge, Fishing with Bill Dance, and probably a few more that I can't remember.

I set the DVR to record all the shows, and it was almost filled in a week.  Lots of great shows.  But I think the Bass Pro show is the best.

Yes, just what we need, more Roland Martin and less Cindy Garrison.  I imagine if the gals on the womans BASS tour looked more like Cindy we'd see ALOT more coverage of that tour.   ;D

BTW, I have no problem watching Cindy's show.  I could care less about the content, I'm usually drifting off visualizing her in the boat with me on the water, with her in one of those great bikini's she's got and that half hour is over way too fast.  ;)

VC was just added, last month, to the basic digital cable package!! :)

I've been thinking about cindy Garrison all day since reading this thread this morning.  Gotta think about something else......hmmm....baseball.....

Uhhhhh,  I like blonds in tight cloths fishing, I am a American male. It would be un- American for me not to watch her. I would much rather watch a blond in tight cloths fishing than a bunch of dudes fishing and  selling and advertising products for fishing. I mean, come on, I am not dead, only 50. ;):D ;D :)

Watching her makes me feel dirty

Maybe now that ESPN has taken the "fishin hole" off, it will show up on some of the other channels so the same can start complaining about those channels and what they air a boring show.   I'm glad its gone, but until the season kicks off, its pretty dry TV for the most part.

Got love Cindy and her sister!!!!

Matt

i love the fact that espn tries to grow the sport by only showing fishing on the WEEKEND when guys actually go fishing. And yes, Cindy is hotter than #$%@.

  • Super User

Aaaaa...well, aaaaa...that doesn't look like my fishing partner.

Cindy, hun?

I don't watch much tv...When is that "Fishing Show" aired?   ::)

Hey Road Warrior how would you feel about her if she used Pflueger Reels

  • Super User

Cindy is not your typical blond or is she?

I have watch her show this last season, she eats anything once.    some of the stuff she ate would gross out Fear Factor competitors.

I watched her in Aftrica with a tribe, where they bring in the cows for breakfast, they took a blunted arrow and shot the cow in the jugular or another vien that flowed large amounts of blood into a gord vase mixed with flour.    That is their one source of food for the day.    Blood and flour doesn't sound like my kind of breakfast any day.

I watched her dig large grub worms from trees to eat.     She is not your average city girl.

DirecTV ROCKS!!! There is almost always some kind of outdoor programming being shown on the 600 series channels. ESPN is backing away from the angling market, I do believe.

I did a little research on Cindy since I have no idea who this gal is or where she came from.

One of 4 daughters born into a family where the Mom and Dad both loved to hunt and fish.

Went over to Africa with M & D on a vacation. Fell in love with the country. Talked Dad into loaning her money to start a guide service for hunting and fishing.

Has a guide's license for both.

An accomplished fisherwoman with fly equipment.

Quite a gal, only 33 years old with an impressive resume and an even more impressive bod!
