but there are tons of other bands i listen to but i dont think theres enough room allowed in each post to mention them lol

It really depends on what mood iam in. If Iam getting up at 4 am for work. I crank up metallica or slayer. If Iam going on a fternoon cruse in the car its classic rock bands like ac/dc, kiss, van halen and many others. Afteter work mon-thurs I listen to 3 days grace, disturbed, god smack, and drowing pool. But friday after work its all speed metal. I guess my favorite bands would be metallica, slayer, black sabbith, megadeath. As for favorite songs i like them as long as there fast and no metal screaming in it. What bands like lamb of god, kill switch and many other bands call metal is crap. How did metal go from some thing fast with very little words to 3 minnute songs with a lot of words? But that all I got to say about metal.

Yeah I forgot about Mudvayne, Linkin Park, Disturbed, (sometimes) 3 doors down, and many others...

lol, yeah it is kind of unusual out where I live to be a rock/metal fan, everyone out here is country and rap...I only know 3 other people that like rock/metal: My brother, my friend Derrick and my other friend Ethan (Ethan is also in our angler program, I am trying to convince Derrick to join...)

Everyone else is Country, Rap or hip hop... :PI like country too but I also like rock/metal and I HATE RAP

i agree wit john j i love metal an rock,country is right there with it an rap is non existant on my list  ;D ....well ok maybe a few songs arent but other than that i hate it lol

Used to listen to country exclusively. Now I hate it with a passion. Every song is the same, sounds the same. No emotion at all. The old stuff had some bite. Cash, Haggard, Jennings.

Listen to a lot of hard rock/metal now and a very little bit of rap but to me, the rap is all starting to sound the same. There are exceptions to be had with both rap and country though.

I will probably get skewered for calling some of these bands hard rock but I like StoneSour, Evanescence, (liked) Audioslave, 30 Seconds to Mars, A7X, Disturbed, Nickelback, Godsmack, Buckcherry and Hinder.

Absolutely love the classic rock stuff. Just about anything is fair game there.

the bit about music genres starting to sounds the same is true but not so true...much of the music is just becoming more  "mainstream" so yes it does all sound the same, but like anything you have to delve deeper into it to find the true music. for me i like emo, some metal, country, and some hip hop....metal would def have to be as i lay dieing 8-)

I've read some people perfer other bands than Metallica but they don't HATE metallica. I've read many people take Magadeth or BLS over Metallica, but not me.

Is anyone interested in that growl metal? I'm not, I like something that I can understand and sing along to it without making my throat sore  ;D

I hate everything they made after 1988.  From 83 - 88 they were original, then they decided money was more important.

has anyone thats a fan of alternative metal or metal core heard of a band called diecast or bloodsimple..i herd of em from headbangers ball an there pretty good??

Certain times i listen to hard stuff. Majority of the time I listen to  what some people call "jam" rock. Listen to and follow a somewhat local band called Widespread Panic, awesome music check them out if you havent heard them before. .....other than that bluegrass, acid jazz, outlaw country...

I think Diecast is absolutely AWFUL! But then again I typically don't care for "metalcore" and I CANNOT stand hardcore.

Im surprised no one mentioned Slayer.

If you like The Haunted (1st cd)  you gotta love, At The Gates (the singer and 2 other members started The Haunted)

Hardcore today is not what it was when I was in my teens and twenties. Bands on MTV and Fuse are not hardcore.(if thats what you are referring to)   If you know Killing Time, Slapshot, Sick Of It All (early), Agnostic Front, Murphys Law, Sheer Terror, Blood For Blood, 108 Shelter, Youth Of Today, Chain Of Strength etc etc thats real hardcore

all for all my favorite genre would have to be alternative metal 8-) however i do like quite a bit of all the other mentioned genre's

I'm just not really a fan of the style. I've heard Agnostic Front but that is it out of your list.

I kind of have weird tastes. But mostly thrash metal, and new american metal in my deck.
