As they have beaten Penn State and WII then maybe a mention but they lost to unranked MO and didn't exactly kill Indiana. Now a lost to the terrible Hawkeyes Ughhhh!

Been watching you guys.   Watched the Mizzou game and was impressed with the Illini play until Sat.    Tough loss.

Mizzou was ranked 11th going into Saturday's game with OU (5th).

Now 16 (BCS ranking), tied with KU at 15 on the AP poll.

I've been impressed with the Illini this year and they are still young.  I believe they are a top 25 team and next year, I predict that they will be a force to be reckoned with.  

Time to eat crow and apologize to the sportswriter on this one. RW you hit it right on the head I guess the illini are for real. They might not be ready for USC yet but hey its a start.

I wrote this orig right after the loss to Iowa. Where I orig grew up ( IA IL border ) it is painful to ever lose to Iowa. To lose to a really bad Iowa team is downright painful. JT Bagwel is from the area he can attest to what it is like.

Not sure of the other areas of the country but I imagine it is like Alabama and Auburn, USC - UCLA or Mets - Yankees  or Yankees - Boston  etc

I guess parody can have more of an effect in college just like pro football.

Yep growing up within a 3 wood from the Mississippi it was a great season but would of been fantastic with a win over the Hawks.  Either way we put up a better record and also heading to a bowl game.  The future is bright.

Grew up in milan mainly, went to Rocky ( class of '77) also lived in RI with my wife and 1st 3 kids were born there.
