This has been troubling me for a couple of weeks.

I posted a reply to an Alpster post that resulted in the post being deleted by the mods.

In my moment of arrogance I had convinced myself that I was putting "principles before personalities"

I wasn't.

I was grinding my axe with the mods at the expense of one of the finest people on God's green earth.

Well Avid, others of us are also guilty as charged.  Recently I posted what I thought were two humorous and semi-innocent opening lines in a response to one of your posts, which I guess initiated your post to be deleted/modified.  This was never my intent.  I felt bad that it was taken the wrong way by various individuals SORRY!  I will try and keep my sometimes poor excuse for humor in check from now on.

Yep I also tend to get my self in trouble. It's this dad blasted computer

that does it. I'm thinking one thing and it's typing something else. Since I have joined BR I have to do a lot of previewing and then some times I want post it. :

Some times my fingers are faster than my brain

I most certainly do know it Ronnie.   It does not surprise me at all that you were not angered over my self righteous post.  Your genuine humility is,  in all honesty......inspirational.

I don't want to overdue the mea-culpa's but I sent a couple of PM's with stupid, self righteous comments over the past couple of weeks to a few of the guys I really like on the forums.

For some reason I periodically snip away people I feel close to.

Avid, your apology has inspired me to go to ebay and find a pair of shades just like yours.

Naw, really.  That's a real show of class and character.  Even though no one was actually wounded by whatever it was.  I have no idea what was involved, but it's nice to see people actually care about others.  God knows I've seen enough of the opposite, so it's good to see that kind of stuff.  So yeah...that's cool man
