Received some horrible news today. I just found out my 8 year old son's friend from across the street is dying of cancer. He has bone/brain cancer. His parents haven't told him, not sure if they will. I'm crushed. I wish there was some way I could take his pain away.

That is horrible.  Take that boy fishing if he's never been.  Prayers sent for him and his family.

Thanks everybody for your support and uplifting words. I'm still in shock. I am not sure how I should tell my son or how he will take it. Again, I really appreciate everything.

That is just beyond tragic.  I can't imagine having to go through something like that.  Will keep them in my prayers.

Its bad enough when things like this happen to adults, but, when its children makes it a tragedy.  Chilldren should not have to endure this.  Don't know why God allows these things to happen, but know that he is soveriegn.
